top 10 streetwear blogs/sites

This is a list of the Streetwear sites that I visit regularly.
Some of them are blogs by designers I admire some are basically news sites but they all stand out as better than others for some reason.

1. Johnny Cupcakes – I dig his business model and unconventional methods even more than his designs...some of which miss the mark if I’m honest. Johnny is the master of web based Streetwear marketing, hands down.

2. Slamxhype – the fashion/art trends bible...and its run from here in NZ!

3. Linty Fresh – I really hummed and har’d about putting Eric’s Blog on this list as I really don’t know why I dig it. In the end I kept coming back to the fact that I check this blog as much as any other site and its one of the few sites that I actually read all of every single post.

4. Fur Face Boy – This designer is really new...FFB is only in its 2nd collection but I really like his brand and its super interesting to see what a start-up is going through....the guy is not very responsive to comments etc tho.

5. Coty Gonzales – Coty is a really nice guy who is mad about tees. He has a weekly video show in which he reviews a tee someone has sent him. I have never seen someone so committed to the humble tshirt. The fact that he is from Hawaii seems cool for some reason too.

6. Fatlace – I only re-discovered this site recently. It’s kind of hard to figure out exactly what this site is about (maybe they need to work on their elevator pitch) but there is a lot of unique content here. There are as many post on cars as there are fashion...I like that mix.

7. Emptees – not actually a Streetwear blog at all but it is a great source of inspiration. This is where you can see the latest artwork from some of the world’s leading tshirt designers. You can even chat with then if you want.

8. Benny Gold – Benny was the lead designer for the skate shop/label Huf. He now has his own brand and a very interesting blog. His approach to marketing is an interesting mix of online and old school...get some of his stickers.

9. Lotus – NZ based brand....ok I admit it’s my brand. I have been doing Lotus for 10 years this year. Good things take time! lol. Check out my blog and buy a tee......

10. The Hundreds – this is another site that is a bit confusing to start with. It’s worth the effort tho. The Hundreds are good.

These sites almost made the list: Kidrobot, hypebeast, staple design, fuct, supreme, miska, wesec, lrg
Interesting facts:
- I have yet to find a decent kicks blog/site.
- In general the established Streetwear brand’s sites aren’t worth a second look.
- Shoe co sites are super booring.
